NFT stands for "non-fungible token." They are built on blockchain technology similar to "fungible" tokens such as Bitcoin or Ethereum; however, each NFT is unique and can be a one-of-a-kind "edition" or part of a limited Drop. Each NFT is based on a unique identifying code, which can be used as a digital proof of ownership or "certificate of authenticity."

Owning an NFT on CrunkSpot gives you extreme bragging rights and digital proof of ownership to an NFT media file, which could be a beautiful photo, artwork, or video from your favorite artist. In some cases, your NFT can unlock additional "content," which may include items like a limited edition copy of a song or an unforgettable VIP experience. As the owner of the NFT, you can enjoy all the perks that come with that NFT for as long as you hold the NFT, or you may choose to list it for sale on the CrunkSpot Marketplace.

An NFT Drop is when artists release one or more different editions of NFTs, typically tied to a common theme. A Collection is a group of NFTs following a story arc, content evolution, or over-arching theme. A Collection can be made up of one or multiple Drops. An artist can release multiple Collections over time.

The CrunkSpot Marketplace is the “marketplace” where users can list their music, tickets, merchandise, etc. for sale for other users to purchase. To sell your NFT on the CrunkSpot marketplace, simply click the "?" next to your NFT in "My Collection", set a USD price, and it will be immediately listed for sale.

How do Drops work?

What are drops?

What is the resale royalty?

Resale royalty is a percentage of the sale that goes back to the creator of the NFT after the NFT is sold on the secondary market. The creator will receive ?% of the sale proceeds while the seller receives ?%.

What could NFTs do for the music industry?

NFTs could allow songs, albums, music videos, live streams, interviews, and merch to be bought and sold as collectible items on the blockchain (a type of public database that exists across multiple computers in a network). Just as signed records gain value from their rarity and symbolic importance, NFTs could make the same true for digital items. Even if the item is not rare itself, the token is rare, giving it its value. NFTs also have the potential to change the way artists think about streaming revenue. If an artist sold one million copies of their new single for $1 each, that’s $1,000,000 banked, minus the platform fee’s will be directly deposited in their wallet.
